A statement from Life Center on January 22, 2013
Dear Life Center Family,
First, we
would like to give our thanks to the City of Tacoma Fire and Police
Departments who responded quickly to the fire at our Life Manor
Independent Living Building. They were amazing. We are grateful to say
that everyone was evacuated safely, and we anticipate all residents
returning home within a week.
The City of Tacoma Fire Department is continuing to research and
investigate the cause of the fire and we will provide you with more
information as we receive it. Some outlets erroneously reported that the
fire was in the Assisted Living building, however the fire began in the
activity room and was contained in the kitchen and dining area of the
Independent Living building.
We are blessed by our community
partners who have rallied around us to offer alternate housing locations
for those affected. Please pray for the residents and all affected
during this time. Again, we are reminded of God’s faithfulness.
